Mørlin

Mixed Breed · Male · 3 years

Mørlin is a social, affectionate and playful boy. He is looking for a calm and safe home with adults and possibly older children (9+). Hello, my name is Mørlin! I am a social, talkative and playful kitten, and I love being near the people I care about. I thrive best when I can be part of daily life, and I gladly greet you with a loud meow before settling down next to you. I hope to be able to share your bed, as that is one of the best things I know! Wool and fleece are my favorites, but if I get my own small bed next to you, I will be satisfied too. When I feel safe, I often come and lie on your chest to cuddle, purr and knead like a kitten - especially if you are wearing wool, a sweater or fleece. I like to get to know people at my own pace and build trust gradually. Being petted on the belly is not my favorite, but I love soft facial massage and cuddling on the head, neck and throat. My foster mother and I have our own cat language - we rub our foreheads together and make little purrs on the forehead. I like to greet neighbors and visitors after observing them first. I like older children who are calm and used to cats, but younger children with a lot of energy and high noise levels can be overwhelming for me.

NO·Show original

About Mørlin

What life with Mørlin looks like

Mørlin is a small adult mixed breed cat waiting at Dyrebeskyttelsen Oslo in Oslo.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇳🇴Adopting from Norway

Norwegian rescues require thorough background checks. Animals leave with a Nordic pet passport and full vetting. Norway is outside the EU so import rules differ slightly — TRACES applies.

Frequently asked

Adopting Mørlin, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Mørlin?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dyrebeskyttelsen Oslo handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Mørlin on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Mørlin if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dyrebeskyttelsen Oslo will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Mørlin already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Mørlin isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dyrebeskyttelsen Oslo early rather than rehoming privately; they know Mørlin and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NO). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
