Her story: Morticia is a 10-year-old cat currently waiting in our cat room in Zalau for a new home. She has a calm and loving nature and often behaves like a senior. She prefers to relax on her pillow and enjoys the company of humans as well as cuddles. Unfortunately, her past was marked by suffering: she was rescued from an apartment known as the "House of Horror," where several cats lived under catastrophic conditions without food or a litter box. Morticia had an ear infection and was infested with parasites but was successfully treated. She was also tested positive for FIV. However, this is not a reason not to adopt her. FIV is a viral disease that can lead to a weakened immune system. Nevertheless, FIV-positive cats, just like FIV-negative cats, can achieve a proud old age! The virus is exclusively transmissible to cats; humans and other animals cannot contract it. An FIV-positive cat can live with a FIV-negative cat, provided all kittens are compatible and there are no bloody fights. Transmission through saliva is not possible. Morticia gets along well with other cats and could immediately move into or with a fellow animal into her new home. Whether she gets along with dogs has not been tested yet. As a pure indoor cat, she has already adapted well to apartment life and will therefore not be rehomed as an outdoor cat. For her travel arrangements, Morticia, like all our cats and tomcats, is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas. She also comes with an EU pet passport.

Ihre Geschichte: Morticia ist eine 10-jährige Katze, die derzeit in unserem Katzenraum in Zalau auf ein neues Zuhause wartet. Sie hat ein ruhiges und liebevolles Wesen und verhält sich meist wie eine Seniorin. Am liebsten entspannt sie auf ihrem Kissen und genießt die Nähe zu Menschen sowie Streicheleinheiten. Ihre Vergangenheit ist leider von Leid geprägt: Sie wurde aus einer als „Haus des Schreckens“ bekannten Wohnung gerettet, wo mehrere Katzen unter katastrophalen Bedingungen ohne Futter und Katzenklo lebten. Morticia hatte damals eine Ohreninfektion und war von Parasiten befallen, wurde aber erfolgreich behandelt. Sie wurde außerdem als FIV-positiv getestet. Dies ist aber kein Grund sie nicht zu adoptieren. FIV ist eine Viruserkrankung, die zu einer Schwäche des Immunsystems führen kann. Dennoch können FIV positive Katzen, genauso wie eine negativ getestete Katze, ein stolzes Alter erreichen! Das Virus ist ausschließlich auf Katzen übertragbar, Menschen und andere Tiere können sich nicht anstecken. Eine FIV+ Katze kann mit einer negativ getesteten Katze zusammenleben, sofern alle Kätzchen verträglich sind und es zu keinen blutigen Beißereien kommt. Eine Übertragung durch Speichel ist nicht möglich. Morticia versteht sich gut mit anderen Katzen und könnte sofort zu oder mit einem Artgenossen in ihr neues Zuhause umziehen. Ob sie sich auch mit Hunden versteht, konnte bisher nicht getestet werden. Als reine Wohnungskatze hat sie sich bereits gut eingelebt und wird daher nicht als Freigänger vermittelt. Bei ihrer Ausreise ist Morticia, wie all unsere Katzen und Kater, kastriert, gechippt, geimpft, entwurmt und entfloht. Einen EU-Heimtierausweis packt sie ebenfalls ins Köfferchen. Nach einer positiven Vorkontrolle und gegen eine Schutzgebühr in Höhe von 250 Euro kann sie in ihr neues Zuhause ziehen. Vielen Dank Sarah Y, dass du mit deiner Namenspatenschaft zu Morticias
