Adopt Morty

European Shorthair · Male · Young · 1 year

My story: Morty arrived through the pound "Le Passage". My character: Morty loves cuddles. He is very friendly and is one of the first to come see us in the morning. He rubs against our legs and looks at us with big eyes to ask for affection. He is still a young cat who has not completely learned all the codes. During moments of affection, he can play with our hands, give little paw taps, nibble... then sometimes get excited and bite a bit harder. However, he is gradually beginning to understand that he shouldn't bite, and he is improving. Morty is a very energetic cat. A piece of string that flies, a leaf that barely moves... everything is a source of amusement for him. He loves running around and exploring. The sink is one of his favorite places: he always checks to see if there might be something to eat inside. And when he drinks, it's quite a show! He dips his paw twice in the water, then puts his head in, makes bubbles and drinks normally... it goes without saying that he often ends up spilling water everywhere. He is clean and knows how to use closed litter boxes. Likes/Dislikes: Relationships:• Cats: OK with females, not tested with males. His little flaw? He sometimes likes it a bit too much. He wants to play constantly, even when the other cat doesn't feel like it, and takes time to understand the signals. That said, he also knows how to calm down and take long naps with other animals of the same species • Dogs: Not OK Outdoor:

About Morty

What life with Morty looks like

Morty is a young adult european shorthair cat waiting at APAA Trégrom in France.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Morty, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Morty?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. APAA Trégrom handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Morty on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Morty if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — APAA Trégrom will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Morty already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Morty isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with APAA Trégrom early rather than rehoming privately; they know Morty and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
