Motte

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy

Mixed breed Motte - lovable and ready for his big adventure Here is Motte - a puppy who was rescued along with his five siblings by our Bulgarian animal welfare colleagues. Motte is currently safe. However, a shelter is not a place where a puppy should grow up. Therefore, Motte would like to quickly find his own home or a loving foster home. Motte is friendly, open and lovable. He gets along with other dogs. We wish for Motte people who give him the time he needs to settle into his new life. With calmness, patience, composure and a lot of empathy, he still has to learn a few things that are important for a shared life: housebreaking, being alone, walking on a leash and all the many noises and impressions of everyday life. But with love, positive reinforcement and patient accompaniment, Motte will definitely learn step by step. Anyone who decides on a puppy should be aware that the first time also means setbacks, a lot of patience and above all time. A puppy will grow up and accompany his people for many years in the best case. Motte needs people who take him by the paw, grow with him and give him the time he needs. Anyone who gives Motte this chance will get a loving companion for life. Adopting a rescue dog always means taking on a special responsibility and can also become a challenge. The dogs bring a backpack with past experiences or unlearned situations and need time to settle into their new life. If you are seriously interested in adopting Motte, please contact the responsible mediator of SALVA Hundehilfe. We would also be very happy about the provision of a foster home.

About Motte

What life with Motte looks like

Motte is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. in Germany.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Motte, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Motte?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Motte on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Motte if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Motte already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Motte isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Motte and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
