adoption requirements adoption process Now adopt this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Motte has found a home! Her story: Who will fall in love with the little Motte? Motte, Stewart, Salsa, Snoopie, and Knuffelwuff, 5 puppy siblings, were found together with their mother Rosita by our helpers at a sheep stall. All 6 were brought to safety, and the 5 puppies are in a foster home with a friend and his wife. There they are developing wonderfully. Motte, with her brown and white fur and black-rimmed eyes, may appear a bit serious at first glance, but that’s probably just due to her fur pattern. Just like her siblings, she is very alert and puppy-typical playful. Motte is likely to grow to medium to large size. Her mother is 55 cm tall and weighs 25 kg. Since we can’t say for sure which breeds were mixed in with the sweet mouse, it can’t be ruled out that she may have some herding dog characteristics. The future family should be prepared and informed about this. Motte is looking for people who won’t have high expectations of her and will show her how a normal dog life works. She is still a baby and has a lot to learn. A little mishap shouldn’t be held against her, and Motte should always be guided with a positive reinforcement training style. She is looking forward to her new life with beautiful nature walks, lots of snuggling hours, and also a visit to puppy school. In the first year of life, puppies should be as little alone as possible. Additionally, the more demanding pubertal phase is approaching. The hormone chaos will turn the little rascals’ lives upside down. They “forget” often what they have learned so far and their ears are on full alert. Therefore, it is especially important in this phase to consistently but lovingly train. And there is also good news: This phase will pass! Have your interest been piqued? Then don’t wait. Motte is eagerly waiting and should not spend the rest of her life in the shelter. Once Motte has all her vaccinations, she can travel. Then she will be fully vaccinated, dewormed, treated for fleas, and microchipped. She will also bring her EU pet passport. Of course, she is still too young for spaying. For an adoption fee of 500 Euro, Motte can be adopted. She would also be happy to stay in a foster home. Thank you, Gerlinde Sch.! You have given Motte a name and identity through your namingsponsorship, thereby giving her the start of her new life. As of: 26.06.

Stand: 26.06.2024

About Motte

What life with Motte looks like

Motte is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Motte, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Motte?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Motte on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Motte if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Motte already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Motte isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Motte and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
