adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Motte has found her forever home! Her story: Motte with the lovely brown tones and big floppy ears had great luck. For she could travel to her foster home. She is already settling in well and gets along great with the only other dog in the family. Motte is already house-trained and is learning basic commands like sit, stay, and stay. She is a true model student 🙂 The start of life for Motte and her siblings Pina, Rainer, and Manfred was far from beautiful when they were found alone and without a mother. No one can say exactly what happened to them. They were fortunately brought to the Public Shelter in Bistrita. Motte is a beautiful, 6-7 month old female dog. With her special fur pattern and her large, brown eyes, she can wrap anyone around her paw. She was born with a shortened tail and therefore cannot travel to Switzerland, or only under certain conditions. Motte gets along well with her fellow animals and she also knows how to get along with cats. We suspect, based on her appearance, that the litter also received some Herding Dog genes and that they will likely be larger. Currently, Motte is about 50-55cm tall and is likely to grow to around 60-65cm. Therefore, we are looking for a loving home that has experience with these traits or is willing to learn about them and can provide the optimal conditions. Motte wishes for a rural home with a beautiful, fenced-in garden and many, long walks. Motte still has to learn the whole puppy ABC and is about to go through puberty. Here, she needs people who can approach with love and patience, and maybe even attend some positively working dog training classes with her and forgive her one or two mishaps. During puberty, she will likely test boundaries and perhaps forget some things she has learned. But once this phase is overcome, Motte will be a great lifelong companion. Motte is microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated. She brings an EU pet passport and can travel after a positive assessment. Who will give Motte their heart and a loving forever home? Many thanks to Jonne! You gave Motte her name. As of: 27.01. This is a young, adolescent dog.

Vielen Dank an Jonne! Du hast Motte Ihren Namen geschenkt. Stand: 27.01.2025

About Motte

What life with Motte looks like

Motte is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Motte, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Motte?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Motte on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Motte if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Motte already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Motte isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Motte and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
