Adoption Requirements Adoption Process Request this Animal Now! Adoption Requirements Adoption Process Request this Dog Now! Mr. Spock has found his forever home! His Story: Sometimes life writes the saddest stories—and yet it still gives us hope. Mr. Spock was found injured on the streets of Romania—alone, with a torn ligament causing him severe pain. Perhaps he was once a beloved dog who was abandoned when he became inconvenient. Or maybe he never knew the warmth of a real home at all. We don’t know exactly what he’s been through—but we do know that he fought for his survival. Now Mr. Spock is staying at the Public Shelter in Baia Mare, locked up in a kennel, surrounded by noise, cold, and loneliness. But his gaze—the friendly, warm brown eyes—doesn’t speak of resignation; rather, they radiate hope. Hope for a better life. Mr. Spock is about 2–3 years old, a medium-sized male dog with a shoulder height of roughly 55–60 cm. His short, brown coat shimmers in the sunlight, and his glossy black nose and open, loving face make him a true heartdog. Despite everything he must have endured, Mr. Spock shows incredible kindness and people-oriented behavior at the shelter. He enjoys every gentle touch, every little bit of attention. He generally gets along well with female dogs, but with dominant males, it depends on mutual compatibility. He’s already had surgery on his injured leg; initially, he couldn’t put any weight on his left hind leg at all, but now things are steadily improving. Nevertheless, it would be important that he doesn’t have to climb many stairs in his new home. When Mr. Spock finally gets to move into his own home, many things will be new for him: everyday noises, walks on a leash, car rides, his very own bed—all of this is probably completely unfamiliar to him. He’ll need patience, loving companionship, and people who are ready to explore the world together with him anew. A positively oriented dog training school could provide wonderful support in this process. He’s already past puberty—he’s therefore at the perfect age to settle down and feel at home. Mr. Spock’s greatest wish? Finally having a home where he no longer has to fight. Just to be a dog—a family member, a lifelong friend. Do you have a heart for Mr. Spock? Then get in touch with us or best fill out the self-disclosure form right here on our website. We also warmly invite anyone who can offer a foster home to get in touch with us. Your support and willingness to temporarily give a dog in need a loving home are a great help to both us and the animals. Mr. Spock travels neutered, vaccinated, chipped, dewormed, and flea-treated. He will be placed after a positive pre-check against a protection fee of 500 euros and with a valid EU pet passport. We thank Gaby R.! You’ve given Mr. Spock his name—and with it, his own identity. Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Stand: 20.02.2026

About Mr. Spock

What life with Mr. Spock looks like

Mr. Spock is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Mr. Spock, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Mr. Spock?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Mr. Spock on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Mr. Spock if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Mr. Spock already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Mr. Spock isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Mr. Spock and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
