adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! In the famous Chinese legend, Mulan is a brave young woman who grows beyond herself and brings these wonderful qualities to our four-legged Mulan. Currently, the approximately four-month-old and about 40 cm tall puppy at the our shelter still shows her quiet side, as she must process all the new impressions. She is currently not very active, but already shows her best side towards humans: Mulan is very friendly and enjoys every cuddle she can get. Visually and from her build, it cannot be ruled out that a few clever hound genes are sleeping in her. While this is mere speculation, her future humans should prepare for the fact that here a clever head is growing that will later be supported both mentally and physically. Since Mulan is only four months old and at the very beginning of her life, she has not yet experienced much of the big, wide world. Her new family should be excited to teach her the entire dog ABC from the ground up. During the puppy stage, this means a lot of patience for house training, learning about environmental stimuli, and walking on a leash. Also, being alone is still new territory for Mulan and must be built up in the new home step by step and with care, so she learns that her people will always return to her. One should also consider that puberty is approaching in a few months. When the hormones start playing tricks and previously learned things seem to be forgotten, Mulan will need people with humor, strength, and a loving consistency. A recommendation for her further path is a visit to a positively working dog training class. Since it is currently being tested how compatible Mulan is with other dogs and cats, a controlled puppy and young dog group offers the perfect framework for her further socialization. The joint training also helps to mentally challenge Mulan from the start and to make the bond between human and dog inseparable. Mulan does not want to wait any longer in the shelter but wants to begin her own, happy adventure by her own family, just like her famous namesake. Mulan is ready to start her big journey microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas. She also has her EU pet passport in her luggage. A big thank you goes to Simon R., who through his namesake sponsorship gave Mulan an identity and this beautiful name! As of: 25.05.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! About Mulan

What life with Mulan looks like

Mulan is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Mulan, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Mulan?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Mulan on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Mulan if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Mulan already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Mulan isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Mulan and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
