Musi

Mixed Breed · Female

MusI also known as NÖPSIK is asking for support to grow up and fight! Musi is a sweet cat from the sea who was the first in her colony to reach the foster home. Since the black and white kitten was very playful from the beginning, we were sure that Musi would become a great family cat and would find a good home quickly. Unfortunately, fate took Musi (who is also called Nöpsik at the foster home) on a different path. The kitten started vomiting frequently without any obvious reason. At the clinic, tests showed that something was very wrong with the organs, but what exactly was still unknown. Musi received painkillers and anti-nausea medication, which quickly improved her mood. However, to find out what was really wrong with the cat, Musi had to undergo a biopsy operation. It turned out that the poor cat has a tumor on the wall of her intestine, which caused changes and unusual symptoms in other organs. In addition, it was discovered that Musi has inflammatory bowel disease, which causes pain, diarrhea, and fatigue. Fortunately, Musi can take medication so that her quality of life is not harmed by the serious illness. However, the cat must be under constant supervision, as the situation can change dramatically at any moment. Each visit to the clinic for Musi costs about 250 euros and in addition to that a large sum for her daily medications! We need a lot of help to pay these bills and to continue providing medical care for Musi!

About Musi

What life with Musi looks like

Musi is a adult mixed breed cat waiting at MTÜ Tartu Kassikaitse in Tartu.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇪🇪Adopting from Estonia

The shelter typically completes the animal's vaccinations, microchipping, and pet passport before adoption. Specific fees and process details vary by shelter and country — confirm directly via the contact details in the sidebar.

Frequently asked

Adopting Musi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Musi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. MTÜ Tartu Kassikaitse handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Musi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Musi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — MTÜ Tartu Kassikaitse will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Musi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Musi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with MTÜ Tartu Kassikaitse early rather than rehoming privately; they know Musi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (ET). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
