Müsli

Male · Adult · 5 years

Müsli is a 5-year-old Peruvian Hairless Dog who came to us at Tierheim Ludwigshafen e.V. as a surrendered dog. He lived with another dog in his previous home. Unfortunately, problems arose in their cohabitation, so his family made the difficult decision to surrender Müsli. According to his owners, Müsli is friendly and nice to people. He has also shown himself to be open and friendly to people here. Since he has only been with us for a short time, we do not want to make any final judgments about him yet. Therefore, we are giving Müsli some time to settle in with us. In the coming weeks, we want to get to know him better in the shelter environment and find out how he behaves in different situations, what is important to him, and what his needs are for his future home. We will also continue to observe his behavior towards other dogs. It is already known that living with an existing dog in his previous home no longer worked. We would like to assess more closely what the underlying causes were and how Müsli generally gets along with other dogs. Therefore, at the moment: Müsli is still a dog that we need to get to know. We would rather convey an honest and realistic picture of him to potential adopters than give a ready-made character description after just a few days. If you are interested in a Peruvian Hairless Dog from the shelter and want to get to know Müsli, please feel free to contact us. For his future home, we wish people who understand that we cannot answer all questions about Müsli at this time and give him the necessary time to settle in. If you are interested, please fill out the interested party form by clicking on "Animal" and "Interested in a dog". This way, all relevant information for an initial conversation will be available to us.

About Müsli

What life with Müsli looks like

Müsli is a adult dog waiting at Tierheim Ludwigshafen in Ludwigshafen/Rheim.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Müsli, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Müsli?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Ludwigshafen handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Müsli on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Müsli if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Ludwigshafen will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Müsli already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Müsli isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Ludwigshafen early rather than rehoming privately; they know Müsli and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
