Naczos

Mixed Breed · Male

Naczos is a large, young dog, picked up at the end of September 2023 and transferred to the animal shelter after wandering around for a long time, being fed by nearby residents. It’s likely he never had a home, his trust in people was small, although he accepted food from them and allowed a little petting. The month spent in the animal shelter was very hard for Naczos, he hardly ever left his kennel, fearfully reacting to other dogs and strangers. We asked the Temporary Home to take care of Naczos until he was adjusted to living among people. At the moment, Naczos lives in a home, maintaining cleanliness, he began going for walks on a leash, but the socialization process is still ongoing. Naczos , despite being a fearful and highly sensitive dog, lacks even a hint of aggression, using the support of people and another dog he currently lives with. Thanks to his gentle personality, he wins the hearts of the people he meets on his journey. The Temporary Home, where Naczos currently resides, agreed to temporary care for the dog, and if only people are found willing to continue the gentle work with this great dog, we invite you to the Temporary Home in Warsaw to meet Naczos.

PL·Show original

Poprosiliśmy Dom Tymczasowy o sprawowanie opieki nad Naczosem do czasu przystosowania go do życia wśród ludzi.

About Naczos

What life with Naczos looks like

Naczos is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Milanówku in Poland.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Naczos, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Naczos?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Milanówku handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Naczos on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Naczos if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Milanówku will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Naczos already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Naczos isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Milanówku early rather than rehoming privately; they know Naczos and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
