NADIR

Mixed Breed · Male · Senior · 11 years

This older dog, who arrived at our shelter in very poor condition after a serious bite, had a long and demanding treatment. NADIR showed immense strength and patience throughout the process. Unfortunately, during the diagnosis, it was discovered that he also suffers from anaplasmosis due to ticks. Despite all this, NADIR is an exceptionally friendly and calm dog. He is a typical senior dog who no longer needs much, just the presence of a person, a soft blanket, and a peaceful environment. He enjoys slow walks in the yard but is just as happy simply sitting beside someone and quietly keeping them company. He gets along well with other dogs and can easily share a home with a canine companion. There is a good chance he will also find a place with cats, provided he is introduced properly and accepts a feline roommate. At the moment, he feels well and makes the most of his life to the extent he can. We are looking for a peaceful and understanding home that will give him a sense of security and allow him to spend his retirement years honorably.

About NADIR

What life with NADIR looks like

NADIR is a medium-sized senior mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko Świdnica in Poland.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting NADIR, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about NADIR?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Świdnica handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw NADIR on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt NADIR if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Świdnica will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is NADIR already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if NADIR isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Świdnica early rather than rehoming privately; they know NADIR and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
