Adopt Nagini

Mixed Breed · Female · Kitten

female Foundling/Stray Born around 2024 EKH neutered [x] yes / [] no At the animal shelter since 22.03.2026 ________________________ We test every cat with a quick test for FIV ("Cat AIDS", more info here!) and FeLV ("Cat Leukemia", more info here!) and clarify the status. We inform about the risk of FIP disease ("Feline Infectious Peritonitis"). ________________________ Nagini lived in Wohratal-Halsdorf with many other cats, straying around a house where they reproduced without being neutered. She could be secured by us and is now looking forward to a new life without constantly having to produce offspring. Although she is still not neutered, we are certain that she will quickly adapt to a proper home with trusted people and some peace and quiet, and then become a very affectionate cat. Nagini is basically get-alongable with other cats. She can be cuddled, she avoids conflicts and enjoys friendly contact. We are looking for a place for her with a fellow animal who will meet her in a relaxed manner and share his home with her. Nagini enjoys being able to retreat to a warm and cozy spot, but also wants to have the possibility of a Freigang in a more rural environment in her new home. We hope that the sweet female cat will quickly find a loving home where she can gain trust and learn what it means to lead a well-cared-for cat life! ________________________ (Last update 09.05.2026) (Click on images to view in full size!) The description reflects the current status, but we reserve the right to make changes or new assessments. It can always happen that an animal behaves or develops differently in a new home due to changed circumstances. This cat needs outdoor access.

About Nagini

What life with Nagini looks like

Nagini is a puppy/kitten mixed breed cat waiting at Tierheim Marburg in Marburg.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Nagini, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Nagini?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Marburg handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Nagini on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Nagini if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Marburg will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Nagini already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Nagini isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Marburg early rather than rehoming privately; they know Nagini and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
