adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Naira has found a home! Her story: Bistrita, Romania. Naira – our Frenchy…a breed dog in animal shelter. Yes, we do have French Bulldogs now and then. Naira is a French Bulldog. Naira belonged to a family that unfortunately didn't deal with the topic of dog and costs beforehand. She was well integrated into the family and a great dog, but her fur wasn't so beautiful. Plus, the food costs a lot, and they only wanted a dog for the duration of the Corona pandemic and now don't want one anymore. With these words, Naira landed with us at the animal shelter. Since it would be too cold here, she currently sits in a box in the clinic room. Naira is about 1-2 years old and brings a typical bulldog size, rather small. She is a very affectionate and friendly mouse, she shows herself uncomplicated in handling. She approaches new things quite openly, but in some situations, she is also insecure and a bit overwhelmed. She simply hasn't experienced much in life and needs to get used to everything in peace. She is very attached to her people and clingy. She gets along well with other dogs. French Bulldogs are highly valued due to their friendly, attached, carefree, and lively nature. Our Naira is looking for people who don't expect much from her and show her how a normal dog life works. She has seen so little of this world and has a lot to learn. One or two mishaps shouldn't be held against her, and Uschi should always be accompanied by a positively reinforcing training style. She is looking forward to her new life with beautiful nature walks, many snuggling hours, and also a visit to the dog training class. Naira can travel to her new home neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated. She brings her EU pet passport and can be adopted after a positive Schenkst du Naira ein Zuhause?

About Naira

What life with Naira looks like

Naira is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Naira, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Naira?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Naira on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Naira if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Naira already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Naira isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Naira and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
