Nala

European Shorthair · Female · Adult · 8 years

Nala is a beautiful small-sized tabby cat, very slender. She is spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, and FIV/FeLV negative. Character: Nala is a pretty tabby cat who is well-adjusted and full of life. Although she is very small, she is already quite grown up! She loves to run and play with her toys (especially her balls), independently. Given her past, she hasn't had much opportunity to play with humans, so she is learning to do so in her foster homes. Still learning, she may still occasionally get a bit too excited and playful, but she is never aggressive. She simply hasn't learned all the codes yet! After her play sessions, Nala loves to sleep on the couch or on a mat. Since she discovered her cat tree, she loves to rest there and watch out the window. She is very curious about her environment and adventurous. At night, Nala is calm, independent, and goes to sleep in the living room on her own. However, like most cats, she loves to have all the doors open, so she can come and go as she pleases. In the morning, she knows to wait for her humans to wake up to ask for her food. Nala is a foodie, so be careful not to leave food on a counter. She loves wet food and steamed vegetables. She regulates herself and doesn't go crazy for her kibble. The miss loves human contact and lets herself be petted and carried. Although she doesn't necessarily come to seek cuddles, she can purr shyly when you give her some. And above all, she loves to be in the same room as her family, quietly lying on the couch and observing all your actions. You can feel that she is still getting used to sharing her daily life with her humans, after years of a more distant relationship. She is tentatively trying new approaches: she recently sat on her foster family's lap for the first time! Although she doesn't cling to her humans, you can feel that she really likes them, and that she will benefit greatly from a relationship of trust with a family for life. This would allow her to open up even more and trust her humans completely. Nala is a little girl who has a lot to offer, and deserves a great home that will give her a chance. History: Found in a courtyard by a resident, worried about Nala's condition. Her "owners" didn't take care of her (no suitable food, no vaccinations or sterilization, which led to her having already had three litters...). Ideal placement: Nala needs a minimum of space (at least 40m2) in order to be able to let off steam, and could really appreciate a small secure outdoor space. Ok with other cats with a little adaptation time, and ok with children (from 8 years old) who can understand the respect of the cat's space and her consent to interact. Contact: Nala can be seen in a foster home in the 12th arrondissement. Contact Manon at 06 16 52 54 14 (preferably by SMS at first to arrange a phone call time), by email or web form.

About Nala

What life with Nala looks like

Nala is a small adult european shorthair cat waiting at Club de Défense des Animaux Paris 12 in Paris.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Nala, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Nala?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Club de Défense des Animaux Paris 12 handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Nala on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Nala if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Club de Défense des Animaux Paris 12 will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Nala already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Nala isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Club de Défense des Animaux Paris 12 early rather than rehoming privately; they know Nala and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
