Adopt Nala

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 5 years

Breed: mixed breed. Gender: female. Age: born 01.10.2021. Weight: approx. 30 kg. In the animal shelter since: 06.03.2026. Special features: Nala, born on 01.10.2021, is a beautiful female dog weighing about 30kg, who more than anything wishes to finally find her place. Nala did not have an easy start in life and comes from poor living conditions. Initially, she appears uncertain around unfamiliar people. Especially toward men, she is initially skeptical and needs more time to build trust. However, with patience and empathy, she also opens up here. Once you have won her trust, she shows her true nature: an incredibly loving, cuddly, and people-oriented female dog who greatly enjoys being close to her humans. Nala loves being outdoors and adores long walks. She travels easily by car and is curious to discover new places – as unfortunately, she hasn't had the chance to see much of the world yet. All the more, she is looking forward to people who want to show her just that. Nala also knows other dogs and gets along well with most. We can therefore imagine her well as a second dog. Since she is very alert, a home in a house with a fenced garden would be ideal for her. Nala is also very eager to learn and wants to please – with the right mix of patience, loving consistency, and activity, she will develop into a loyal companion who will stick with her people through thick and thin. Who will give Nala the chance for a happy life?

About Nala

What life with Nala looks like

Nala is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierheim Lübbersdorf in Germany.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Nala, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Nala?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Lübbersdorf handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Nala on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Nala if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Lübbersdorf will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Nala already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Nala isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Lübbersdorf early rather than rehoming privately; they know Nala and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
