Adopt Nala

Unknown · Senior · 13 years

Nala does not find it particularly nice to be addressed by her fur size. After all, one does not greet a person with "Boah, des is a Brummer!" either. Our somewhat plush Nala has a hormone problem and is simply built a bit sturdier. Therefore, Nala can defend herself when she is greeted in such a manner. She generally likes being stroked, but most of the time, she just wants to have her peace and shows this. Otherwise, she is an extremely content female cat who loves her little bed and sunny spots. If she is currently dozing by the front door, she could be engaged as a personal doorman, because (depending on her mood) she does not let everyone in 😂 Due to her age and weight, she is no longer the fittest, but Nala can still be really funny and it is always a joy to have her around 🙂 Do you think you are the right person for Nala or would you like to get to know her better? Then contact the animal shelter Wörgl: 0664 – 849 5351 t -> Back to the cat overview. Interested? Click here and contact us!

About Nala

What life with Nala looks like

Nala is a medium-sized senior cat waiting at Tierschutzverein für Tirol in Innsbruck.

Senior cats are the gentlest house guests: predictable, mostly silent, and grateful for a sunny windowsill. Older cats often have minor dental or kidney issues — keep an eye on water intake and weight. Many sleep eighteen hours a day and want no part of any drama.

Note from the shelter: May be overweight based on description mentioning her 'plush' appearance and sensitivity about weight comments

🇦🇹Adopting from Austria

Austrian shelters follow the federal Tierschutzgesetz framework: adopters sign a Schutzvertrag (protection contract) committing to the animal's welfare. Spay/neuter, microchip, and vaccinations are included; fees typically range €150–€350.

Frequently asked

Adopting Nala, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Nala?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein für Tirol handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Nala on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Nala if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein für Tirol will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Nala already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Nala isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein für Tirol early rather than rehoming privately; they know Nala and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
