It was hard to recognize the dog under the tangled fur. He barely held on with his paws, not understanding what was happening. They named him Morpheus. Over time, he recovered from the stress and became a bit naive. But it was hard to call his condition satisfactory; they began examinations. So, today we have: A 12+ year old dog with DCM (Dilated Cardiomyopathy). Present: – Lifetime diet Royal Canin Cardiac – lifetime intake of pimobendan – periodic furosemide. – An echocardiogram every six months. Morpheus is a huge, very sweet, serious old dog who commands respect and admiration. He loves to converse with other old dogs like himself. Sometimes our Grandpa Morpheus can be a bit stubborn. He very much dislikes brushing his fur and will not do as he is told. He loves to scold the little ones and to nap for a month. Morpheus has very poor hearing, it's hard for him to walk far or long due to age-related changes in his joints. But he is still very kind to those he trusts. You can sit next to him, and he will lay his wise, large head on your knees, peering at you with his doggy eyes, as if to say, "Everything will be okay!" It's a shame for such old ones who spent their entire lives somewhere in a family, to end up at the roadside or in an animal shelter where they are given very little time, due to the large number of animals. Don't abandon the old ones! They always need our support, and even more so in their old age! Their lives are so short, and they put all their doggy love into us, humans….

Життя може бути дуже несправедливим. Особливо крає серце той факт, що стару, немічну, перелякану, дезорієнтовану собаку кидають напризволяще. І порода в цьому аж ніскілечки не рятує. Його знайшли в ямі вздовж дороги. Кволий, худий, холодний, голодний, зневоднений, ледь притомний. Чи його покинули, чи під час обстрілів рятувався куди міг- не зрозуміло. Власники не відгукнулися. Привезли до притулку. В купі зваляної шерсті було важко розпізнати собаку. Він ледь тримався на лапах, не розумів що відбувається. Назвали його Морфіусом. Через час відійшов від стресу та трохи наїв маси. Але стан задовільним назвати було важко, почали обстеження. Тож, на сьогодні маємо: Вівчар 12+ років ДКМП (Дилатаційна кардіоміопатія). Показані: – Пожиттєва дієта Royal Canin Cardiac – пожиттєвий прийом препарату пімобендан – періодично фуросемід. – Раз на півроку ЕХО серця. Морфеус величезний, дуже милий, поважний старий пес, який викликає повагу та захоплення. Любить спілкуватись з такими ж старенькими як він.Іноді наш Дідусь капризує. Дуже не любить вичісувати шерсть і коли йому вказують що робити. Любить побурчати на малечу, та повити на місяць. Морфеус вже дуже погано чує, йому важко ходити довго і далеко через вікові зміни в суглобах. Але він все одно дуже лагідний до тих, кому вірить. Буває сядеш ним поруч, а він покладе свою велику мудру голову на коліна, зазирне вівчаристими очиськами в твої, наче каже “Все буде добре!” Дуже шкода таких стареньких, які все життя прожили десь в родині, а наприкінці , коли їм потрібна вся турбота і розуміння опиняються отак, в яру біля дороги або в притулку, де на увагу виділяється дуже мало часу, через велику кількість тварин. Не кидайте стареньких! Вони завжди потребують нашої підтримки, а в старості ще більше!! В них таке коротке життя і вони вкладають всю свою собачу любов в нас, людей….
