Negri

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Adult · 4 years

Are you looking for a dog that has calmness, that can even be an example of composure and inner balance for Buddhist monks? Then we can only recommend that you seriously consider giving Negri a home. The little three-year-old (as of 12/2022) coal piece with the sweet white cream spot on her chest lived with a family - and it must be emphasized here that Negri lived with these people, not with them, because most of the time, this very friendly female dog was left to herself. In July 2022, her owners decided to sell the house and move. They left nothing behind, except Negri. Animal welfare workers from Dolmen Animal encountered the frightened girl who no longer understood the world as she wandered through the village looking for food and then repeatedly returned to the empty building. The hope that her owners would come to pick her up was naturally disappointed. Negri came to the small facility of Dolmen Animal in the summer and surprised everyone from the first day with her coolness. She can sleep in the middle of the biggest chaos, she walks through the large herding dogs and doesn't care at all if they don't find it funny, she always finds a sleeping place with connection - and even the most convinced loners in our partner's pack accept Negri near them. However, Negri is not a sleeping pill, she also plays and likes long walks, but she is just extremely "chilled". This qualifies her as a dog especially suitable for beginners. Trouble with other four-legged animals (and especially their owners) is never completely ruled out, but with Negri you are already quite sure that there won't be constant stress during walks. Our girl could certainly be a great therapy dog - or a loving companion for people with anxiety disorders or hyperactivity. Negri is definitely a very special dog. Not only is she beautifully sculpted and cute with her bold lady's beard, she has a big heart, is deeply relaxed and the most sociable dog you can imagine. So don't wait too long, Negri is waiting for someone to give them some of her natural calm.

About Negri

What life with Negri looks like

Negri is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. in Gernsbach.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Negri, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Negri?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Negri on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Negri if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Negri already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Negri isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Negri and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
