Adopt Nela

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 3 years

Nela, with her old name Canela, is a beautiful sweet dumpling, stopping everyone to take a look at her chunky thighs, running you over with her enthusiastic snuggles! She is a wonder small American Bully girl, with a lovely character, a wonderful companion indeed. Sadly she has shortness of breath, as most of dogs this type, irresponsible actions of illegal breeders. Nela was sold from a breeder to a couple, together with a male Bully, the male Bully has in the meantime been adopted to another family, and Nela is in a loving foster home, where she shows really what an excellent dog she is at home. It looks like Nela maybe does not know life outside of the home so well, but some situations and encounters make her agitated, like a lot of traffic in a busy cafeteria, or too many other dogs around, or cats running past her. When "normal" dogs gets agitated, it is not a problem, they shake it off and move on. But because of the specific of the breathing ways of overbred Amercian Bullies like Nela, they do not get enough oxygen, and really struggle with recovering from an exiting or aggravating situation. Her breathing ways will be checking by a specialist shortly, sometimes there is an operation that can help these dogs with breathing better, however, for her quality of life, Nela is looking for a home in a cooler environment, meaning further up North in Europe, and definitely in a quiet neighborhood, ideally in the nature, or in a quiet suburban part of town. Nela is looking for a home with a little garden at least, as she does not walk very far, and a garden would allow her to enjoy the outdoors, without having to go for long walks. Nela is lovely with humans, and also children, but again, for keeping her calm, older educated children would be best suitable. Nela use to live with a similar male dog, and would once again like to share her life with a calm, balanced male, who gives her a feeling of safety and friendship. Small, too energetic, and yappy dogs are not to the liking of Nela. At home she loves to snuggle with her human on the sofa, make sure that everything's okey with you when you go to the toilet, and be your Sous Chef in the kitchen. You can probably tell from her voluptuous figure that this cutie loves to eat. Her shoulder height is just 33cm.

About Nela

What life with Nela looks like

Nela is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Triple A Marbella in Marbella.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇪🇸Adopting from Spain

Spanish protectoras generally include sterilization, all vaccinations, microchip ID, and EU pet passport in the adoption fee (typically €250–€400 for a dog, €100–€180 for a cat). Many maintain partnerships with rescue transport providers across the EU.

Frequently asked

Adopting Nela, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Nela?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Triple A Marbella handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Nela on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Nela if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Triple A Marbella will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Nela already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Nela isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Triple A Marbella early rather than rehoming privately; they know Nela and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
