adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Nele has found her home! Her story: Nele is about 3 – 4 years old, only about 30 cm tall, and one of those female dogs that you fall in love with at first sight. She was found in Romania together with her supposed puppies and the male dog Sammy. The small dog family was initially able to rest in a Romanian foster home, where they were cared for and brought to safety. Due to time and space reasons, the foster home could not keep them permanently, so Nele and her small family had to move into a private shelter in Busag. There they sit and eagerly await a warm, secure home – a home that is more than just a safe place, but a home in the heart of their people. Nele is not only visually a real sweetheart, but her nature is also simply lovable. She is open, friendly, and has a cute, affectionate manner that quickly touches the heart. She seeks the closeness of humans and is happy about attention without being pushy. One can feel that she very much wants to "belong" and is ready to give her human her small big heart. Like most dogs from the shelter, Nele probably still doesn't know or only knows a little bit about life in a normal household. House training, leash walking, car rides, everyday life in the house – all of this she probably still or has to learn again. We wish for Nele people who are willing to show her these things in peace, with patience and humor, looking past small initial hurdles, and accompany her step by step into her new life. Whether alone or together with a friendly only dog – both we can imagine well, as long as her people give her time to settle in. If you want to give a small, open, and very cute female dog the chance at a real forever home, then Nele could be the perfect match for you. After a positive Lieben Dank to Sunny W.. Thanks to you, Nele has an identity and can now go on the search for her forever home. Status: 07.02. This animal is vaccinated. This animal is microchipped.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Lieben Dank an Sunny W.. Stand: 07.02.2026

About Nele

What life with Nele looks like

Nele is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Nele, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Nele?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Nele on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Nele if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Nele already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Nele isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Nele and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
