Nelly ♀ 🇭🇺

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 4 months

Nelly is the confident one among her siblings - a little cheerful creature who immediately charms with her open and lively nature. Playful, friendly, and always in the middle of things, she loves to play with her siblings, explore the world, and learn something new every day. Nelly brings a lot of good cheer and already shows that she knows exactly what she wants. The little Nelly was born on 20.01.2026 together with her siblings and is now old enough to look for her own forever home. Her mother Panni is a small dachshund mix, and the father is unknown - however, we assume that Nelly will grow up to be small to medium-sized. Currently, Nelly lives at the animal shelter Hoffnung, where she is cared for with a lot of heart and attention. There, she can grow up protected and gain important first experiences. Nevertheless, we would like her not to have to grow up at an animal shelter, but to move into a loving home soon - to people who can give her a sense of security, safety, and a real family life. For Nelly, we wish people who enjoy an active, cheerful dog and are eager to discover the world together with her. She is looking for a home where she is lovingly supported and can gradually learn the basics of dog training with clear, loving consistency. Because even though a puppy is cute - it brings not only joy, but also responsibility. Housebreaking, being alone, basic obedience, and all the small and big challenges of daily life must be learned. This requires time, patience, and understanding. Whoever gives Nelly a home will get a cheerful, confident, and loyal companion who makes each day a little brighter. Anyone who wants to meet Nelly is welcome to contact us ❤️ This dog is waiting at the animal shelter 'Hoffnung' for his people - the farm itself is pleased with any support so that the dogs can continue to be well cared for. About Nelly ♀ 🇭🇺

What life with Nelly ♀ 🇭🇺 looks like

Nelly ♀ 🇭🇺 is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein Hundehilfe Hinterland e.V. in Biedenkopf.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Nelly ♀ 🇭🇺, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Nelly ♀ 🇭🇺?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Hundehilfe Hinterland e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Nelly ♀ 🇭🇺 on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Nelly ♀ 🇭🇺 if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Hundehilfe Hinterland e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Nelly ♀ 🇭🇺 already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Nelly ♀ 🇭🇺 isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Hundehilfe Hinterland e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Nelly ♀ 🇭🇺 and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
