ID No.: 1064852 Breed: Transmontano Mix Age: 06/2025 Sex: Male Shoulder height: 70 cm Neutered/Spayed: Yes Location: Marbella (Spain) Inquiry Form Nero – a strong boy looking for his great happiness Nero (born 06/06/2025, 70 cm) came to us at the Triple A animal shelter in Marbella together with his brother Todd. The two were surrendered by their family after a truly terrible case of abuse had occurred there… Despite everything this poor fellow has had to see and endure in his short life so far, he has an incredibly cheerful and social nature. He gets along wonderfully with medium-sized and large dogs, whether male or female, and already shares his kennel in complete harmony with two other canine friends. Nero is a large and very sturdy dog. Leash manners still need some work in his new home, as he is currently pulling quite a bit out of sheer excitement. But since he is an incredibly clever boy and can be motivated enormously with food, he will certainly master the training together with you quickly. Whenever the opportunity arises, he eagerly offers you his paw in the hope of snagging a little treat. He is a rather independent and joyful dog who puts a smile on your face every single day. Since there is a livestock guardian dog in Nero, his true calling is to watch over his territory. For our wonderful Nero we are therefore looking for a lovely home with plenty of space and, ideally, a garden of its own. Another playful dog in his new family would be ideal for him so he can romp around together. Because Nero is very big and strong and, in his boundless joy while playing, can sometimes become a bit clumsy, any children in the household should already be somewhat older and steady on their feet; we recommend an age of at least ten years. Nero is vaccinated, microchipped, neutered, and has an EU pet passport. Upon departure he was tested for Mediterranean diseases and was dewormed and treated for fleas. Nero ID-Nr: 1064852 Rasse: Transmontano Mischling Alter: 06/2025 Geschlecht: männlich Schulterhöhe: 70 cm Kastriert/Sterilisiert: Ja Aufenthalt / Ort: Marbella (Spanien) Anfrageformular Nero – starker Bub sucht sein großes Glück Nero (geb. About Nero

What life with Nero looks like

Nero is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Helfende Hände e.V. in Germany.

A young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Nero, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Nero?: Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Helfende Hände e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Nero on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Nero if I live in another country?: Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Helfende Hände e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Nero already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?: Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Nero isn't the right fit?: Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Helfende Hände e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Nero and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?: TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
