Nero

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 5 years

This stunning black beauty with the shiny, flowing coat is Nero. A truly remarkable dog who captures attention not only with his elegant appearance, but also with his enormous heart. We estimate his date of birth to be around February 2021, and he stands approximately 62 cm tall at the shoulder. Behind his large frame and magnificent coat hides an even bigger heart. Nero only needs a little kindness or a warm glance before showering people with endless affection. He is a balanced, friendly and sociable male dog who gets along well with other dogs, loves to play and enjoys an active lifestyle. Since he has spent most of his life in the shelter, where he enjoyed plenty of freedom and open space, adapting to indoor living may require patience and understanding. Of course, nothing is impossible, but Nero would truly thrive in a home with a large outdoor area, lots of activity and endless love. He is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped, fully ready to meet the family who will finally choo

About Nero

What life with Nero looks like

Nero is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at SOS Dogs FPCC Oradea in Oradea.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇷🇴Adopting from Romania

Romanian rescues handle the highest volume of cross-border adoptions in the EU. Animals are quarantined and fully vetted before transport. Reputable rescues maintain detailed health records and post-adoption follow-up.

Frequently asked

Adopting Nero, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Nero?: Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SOS Dogs FPCC Oradea handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Nero on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Nero if I live in another country?: Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SOS Dogs FPCC Oradea will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Nero already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?: Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Nero isn't the right fit?: Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SOS Dogs FPCC Oradea early rather than rehoming privately; they know Nero and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?: TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
