Nero, Niko & Chucky

Mixed Breed · Male · Baby

Male, neutered, born February 2026 * Chucky (brown) is reserved Two young German Giants are looking for their forever home These two handsome rabbit boys are just a few months old and are just starting their lives. They were taken over by another animal shelter that had reached its capacity limits due to a large number of rabbits. Now the four have arrived with us and hope to move into a loving home soon. The boys can be placed individually - of course only with an existing, suitable rabbit partner or in an existing, harmonious group. A single-animal housing is not an option for us, because rabbits are very social animals and absolutely need conspecifics. As German Giants, they are among the largest rabbit breeds. When fully grown, they reach a weight of about 7 to 10 kg and therefore require significantly more space than smaller rabbit breeds. Ideally, they live in a spacious, structured outdoor enclosure or in a very spacious indoor enclosure. Permanently sufficient space should be available for each animal so that they can pursue their natural urge to move. Hiding places, elevated lying areas, digging possibilities as well as varied occupation are just as much part of a species-appropriate keeping as fresh hay, water and a balanced, leafy diet. The four are curious, active and discover their environment with great interest for their age. With a little patience and a species-appropriate home, they will surely develop into great companions. If you would like to give one of these sympathetic giants a nice home, please feel free to contact us. We will of course advise you in detail on keeping and socializing.

Frequently asked

Adopting Nero, Niko & Chucky, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Nero, Niko & Chucky?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Vaihingen handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Nero, Niko & Chucky on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Nero, Niko & Chucky if I live in another country?
Sometimes. Whether a animal can move between countries depends on the species and the rules in both countries, and some species need permits or have restrictions. Ask Tierheim Vaihingen what paperwork and transport they require, and check the import rules of your country before you commit.
Is Nero, Niko & Chucky already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
What a animal comes with (vet checks, vaccinations, identification, paperwork) varies by shelter and species. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask Tierheim Vaihingen directly what is included and what Nero, Niko & Chucky still needs.
What happens if Nero, Niko & Chucky isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Vaihingen early rather than rehoming privately; they know Nero, Niko & Chucky and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
