Adopt Neujahrsgrüße

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Young · 3 years

A very intense and demanding year lies behind us. Tierhilfe Weidenberg took in around 240 animals in 2023, 25 of which unfortunately passed away. Never before have we had such high veterinary costs; as of December 31, 2023, we spent a total of €49,052 for the medical care of our foster animals. How were we able to manage all this? Only with your help! With justice we can claim to have the best supporters in the world. Even though times have truly not been rosy, your generosity has repeatedly given us the feeling that we were never alone. In 2023 many tears were shed: whether from sorrow or joy. You surely remember our Jamie, who was brought to our vet more dead than alive. This cat suffered from an extremely severe intestinal disease, in which the food taken in was immediately expelled unfiltered in the form of dramatic diarrhea. With great sadness, we had to let Jamie go, but we will never forget this grateful animal. In January 2023, stray dog Molly crept into our hearts. In Gudrun we found an excellent foster home who selflessly cared for the dear dog - especially when it became clear that Molly was highly pregnant. Five puppies gave Molly life. At first there were tears of joy, which then turned into crocodile tears during the first check-up. The last born pup, Snow White, suffered from a pulmonary stenosis, which would have led to the certain death of the puppy within the first year of life if left untreated. Thanks to our donation appeal, we were able to carry out the necessary heart operation at LMU Munich with your help. We will never forget this! Our Lumi (formerly Snow White) is a dog full of joy for life, who now has the same life expectancy as her siblings thanks to the operation. Last but not least, we would like to mention here

Last but not least nennen wir an dieser Stelle noch

About Neujahrsgrüße

What life with Neujahrsgrüße looks like

Neujahrsgrüße is a small young adult mixed breed animal waiting at Tierhilfe Weidenberg in Germany.

Every animal has their own temperament and history. The shelter knows Neujahrsgrüße far better than any listing can convey — ask about daily routine, ideal household, and what kind of adopter they're hoping for.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Neujahrsgrüße, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Neujahrsgrüße?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierhilfe Weidenberg handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Neujahrsgrüße on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Neujahrsgrüße if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierhilfe Weidenberg will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Neujahrsgrüße already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most animals on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Neujahrsgrüße isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierhilfe Weidenberg early rather than rehoming privately; they know Neujahrsgrüße and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
