NEWTON Newton arrived at the animal shelter, along with his companion Olivia, in a very traumatic and difficult situation. A "gentleman" left them tied with a wire at the door of the animal shelter, in broad daylight. Fortunately, there were many volunteers, staff, and management at the animal shelter, and they were able to catch Olivia before she escaped. But this was not the case with Newton, who managed to escape. We quickly mobilized to find him frightened, trapped, and dying of thirst under some bushes, and we were able to take him back to the animal shelter, where he has shown himself very distressed from the beginning. He does not trust people he does not know and tries to escape. With people he sees regularly and already knows, he is a very affectionate dog. He only walks with volunteers he knows, and the truth is that he does it very well, sniffing the surroundings and tracks calmly. We believe that given his personality, he will be happier in a rural environment with a family that has experience with guard dogs and is willing to work on his insecurities and earn his trust, which would not be difficult in a favorable environment. Not long ago, he had lived with Olivia for a long time, but now they live separately due to episodes of aggression between them, probably because of living in an hostile environment like the animal shelter, full of barking and crying dogs. Despite this, he shows curiosity towards the other dogs he sees through the fences. Cats do not like him at all. He is negative for leishmania. He is a PPP dog, so he will need a license and to wear a muzzle according to current regulations.

Un “senyor” els va deixar lligats amb un filferro a la porta del refugi, a plena llum del dia. Per sort al refugi estaven molts voluntaris, treballadors i direcció, i van poder agafar a la Olivia abans de que s’escapés Però no va ser així amb el Newton que va poder fugir. Ràpidament ens vam mobilitzar per trobar-lo sota uns arbustos espantat, bloquejat i mort de set, i el vam poder portar al refugi de nou, on s’ha mostrat molt bloquejat des de un inici. 👤 Amb les persones que no coneix no se’n fia gaire i mira de fugir. Amb les persones que veu habitualment i ja coneix és un gos molt carinyós. 🐕 Només passeja amb els voluntaris que coneix i la veritat es que ho fa força bé tot olorant l’entorn i els rastres i amb tranquil·litat. 🏡 Creiem que donada la seva personalitat, estarà més feliç en un entorn rural amb una família que tingui experiència en gossos porucs i tingui ganes de treballar les seves inseguretats i guanyar-se la seva confiança que en un entorn favorable segur que no li costa gens. 🐶 Fins no fa gaire havia conviscut molt temps amb la Olivia però ara viuen separats a causa d’episodis d’agressió entre ells, segurament donat al fet de conviure en un entorn hostil com es el refugi, ple de gossos bordant i plorant. Tot i així, ell sent curiositat cap a la resta de gossos que veu a través de les tanques. 🐱 Els gats no li agraden gens. 💊 És negatiu en leishmania. ❗ És un gos ppp, per el que necessitarà llicència i dur morrió segons la normativa vigent.
