Nia

adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Nia has found her home! Her story: Nia was rescued from the public shelter by us. The little female dog no longer understands the world and only wishes for a warm dog bed and a loving hand to pet her. At 3 years old, Nia is an open, playful female dog who greatly enjoys the company of fellow animals. In the run, she can really run around and play. But in the kennel alone, she is very quiet. She suffers greatly on cold and wet days, trying to protect herself from the cold in the warm straw. Nia is looking for people who won't have too many expectations of her and will show her how a normal dog life works. She definitely needs to learn a lot. Sometimes a little mishap shouldn't be held against her, and Nia should always be guided with a positive reinforcement training style. She is looking forward to her new life with beautiful nature walks, many snuggling hours, and maybe also a happy dog buddy. Nia at 41 cm and 12 kg has a pleasant size to take her everywhere. Her playful ears always make our helpers smile. Have we piqued your interest? Then don't wait. Nia should not spend the rest of her life in the shelter. Once Nia has all her vaccinations, she is ready for her new life. Then she will be fully vaccinated, dewormed, treated for fleas, microchipped, and neutered. She will also bring her EU pet passport. Against an adoption fee of 500 Euro, Nia can be adopted. She would also be happy in a foster home. Many thanks, Larissa! You named Nia! As of: 25.10.

Vielen Dank Larissa! Du hast Nia ihren Namen geschenkt! Stand: 25.10.2024

About Nia

What life with Nia looks like

Nia is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Nia, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Nia?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Nia on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Nia if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Nia already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Nia isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Nia and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
