They say that black cats are omens of misfortune. What a terrible lie, I tell you! What about dogs? Is it also said about black dogs? I don't know if those people who left me to die in a hole in the middle of the forest believed in superstitions, but I want to believe that my new family would never do such a thing. My name is Nix, and most of all I fear being abandoned again. When I was very small, there were people who took me home. But, like all puppies, I started teething. Probably I chewed something, because they didn't buy me any special toys. Then they took me very far from home, dropped me into a hole in the middle of the forest, and tied me to the root of a tree so I couldn't return home. A note was hung around my neck saying "mad, bites everything". I sat in the hole for several days until some kind woman pulled me out. And now I'm in Kyiv, looking for people who won't betray or leave me. I'm already an adult and well-mannered, I don't destroy anything and am very careful. Maybe there's a place for me in your heart?

От кажуть, що чорні коти - вісники нещасть. Жахливо брешуть, скажу я вам! А як щодо собак? Хіба про чорних собак теж таке говорять? Я не знаю, чи вірили в забобони ті, хто покинув мене на смерть в ямі посеред лісу, але хочеться вірити, що моя нова родина нізащо так не зробить. Мене звати Нікс, і найбільш за усе я боюсь, що мене знову покинуть. Коли я був зовсім маленьким, у мене були люди, які взяли мене додому. Але, як і у всіх маленьких цуценяток, у мене почали різатись зубки. Певно, я щось погриз, бо спеціальних іграшок мені не купували. Тоді мене відвезли дуже далеко від дому, спустили в яму посеред лісу і прив'язали до коріння якогось дерева, щоб я не міг повернутися додому. А на шию повісили записку "бешеный, грызет все". Я просидів в ямі кілька днів, поки мене не витягла якась добра жіночка. І ось тепер я в Києві, шукаю людей, які не зрадять і не залишать. Я вже дорослий і чемний, нічого не псую і дуже обережний.
