🐾 Nina🐾 Knuffelkat: Not yet a breed: housecat Gender: female Age: Not specified Children: Over 14 years Old enough for outdoor access: Yes Other cats: Yes Other animals: Not known Healthy: Yes Meet Nina! Nina came to us with her newly born kittens. Due to all the stress, Nina is not taking such good care of her kittens anymore, so they have gone to a foster family to be bottle-fed. Her kittens are doing very well meanwhile, and Nina herself is now fully ready to be adopted. She is a bit on the shy side and needs some time to fully blossom. With enough patience and love (and maybe some treats), we see this happening for sure. We will only place her in a home where there is already a cat present, and she would also very much like to go back outside in her new home. Will you give Nina the chance to fully blossom?

🐾 Nina🐾 Knuffelkat: In wording Ras: huiskat Geslacht: kattin Kinderen: >14 jaar Toegang tot buiten: Ja Andere katten: Ja Andere dieren: Niet geweten Zindelijk: Ja Meet Nina! About Nina

What life with Nina looks like

Nina is a young adult mixed breed cat waiting at Pootjesparadijs Dierenopvangcentrum Zemst in Belgium.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇧🇪Adopting from Belgium

Belgian shelters operate under regional law (Flanders, Wallonia, Brussels each have their own rules). All adoptions include the Eurochip, vaccinations, and a stewardship contract. Several Flemish shelters partner with Dutch and German rescue networks.

Frequently asked

Adopting Nina, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Nina?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Pootjesparadijs Dierenopvangcentrum Zemst handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Nina on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Nina if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Pootjesparadijs Dierenopvangcentrum Zemst will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Nina already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Nina isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Pootjesparadijs Dierenopvangcentrum Zemst early rather than rehoming privately; they know Nina and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
