Nina

Mixed Breed · Female · Kitten · 6 months

Nina – terribly loud, incredibly close Nina came to the foundation with her mom and siblings Nikodem, Nela and Norbert, the cat family shares a temporary home and is waiting for adoption. Nina – I would really like to check what's on your plate, what you're splashing in the sink, what's rustling when you sweep the floor – but I'm scared. I play with my siblings, I play until I fall, I sleep snuggled up with my family and I have moments of total carefree happiness, but a sudden movement, approaching too close, I run away in panic. Then I look uncertainly, although curiously, from behind the door, under the chair, behind my brother, sister or mom. In almost 6 months I've made great progress, but I still need a lot of time, calm, patience and love before I dare to trust someone. Let's try together? I have a wonderful brother Norbert and a beautiful sister Nela – will you love all of us? We are looking for a home for Nina that is not escape-proof, loving, safe, with a secured balcony (if there is one) and/or windows, which will surround her with the best care. Preferably for adoption with Nela or Norbert. WARNING!

Nina – strasznie głośno, niesamowicie blisko Nina przyjechała do fundacji razem z mamą i rodzeństwem Nikodemem, Nelą i Norbertem, kocia rodzina dzieli dom tymczasowy i czeka na adopcję. Mam cudnego brata Norberta i śliczną siostrę Nelę – pokochasz nas wszystkich? About Nina

What life with Nina looks like

Nina is a puppy/kitten mixed breed cat waiting at Fundacja Stawiamy na Łapy in Poland.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Nina, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Nina?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Stawiamy na Łapy handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Nina on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Nina if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Stawiamy na Łapy will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Nina already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Nina isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Stawiamy na Łapy early rather than rehoming privately; they know Nina and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
