Nina

Mixed Breed · Female · Kitten · 9 months

Nina was born around September 2025. The pretty tortoiseshell kitten Nina was caught in rugged terrain with a trap and brought to the animal clinic. After the examination, she was taken to the intake station. The Spaniard Nina is very curious and playful. She craves attention but needs time to fully trust humans, as she grew up without human contact for the first two months. For Nina, we are looking for experienced cat people who can give her all the time in the world to adjust and are aware that they will be adopting a very special kitten. Now, Nina wishes to be adopted by a Gspändli either with a free roam (away from busy streets) or in a large apartment with a secured balcony or terrace. She is neutered, tested, microchipped, and vaccinated and will be rehomed with a animal protection letter. This cat needs outdoor access.

About Nina

What life with Nina looks like

Nina is a puppy/kitten mixed breed cat waiting at Waisenkatzen.ch in Waisenkatzen.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting Nina, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Nina?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Waisenkatzen.ch handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Nina on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Nina if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Waisenkatzen.ch will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Nina already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Nina isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Waisenkatzen.ch early rather than rehoming privately; they know Nina and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
