Ninja

Mixed Breed Cat · Male · Young · 2 years

🖤 Ninja – A chatty, cuddly boy looking for his forever home 🖤 Ninja is a handsome 2½-year-old black domestic short-haired boy with a huge personality and an even bigger heart. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who loves affection, conversation and being involved in everything you do, Ninja could be the perfect match. Ninja came into Avid’s Angels Cat Rescue in January due to a change in his family’s circumstances. Understandably, he found cattery life quite overwhelming, so we moved him into one of our wonderful foster homes where he has absolutely flourished. Now that he’s settled into a home environment again, his loving and playful nature has truly shone through. Ninja will require an experienced, patient adopter who is willing to give him the time, space and understanding to adjust to a new home as he is likely to be quite timid and scared at first. However, the successful adopter will be richly rewarded once Ninja has been allowed time to settle. Due to his shy nature, Ninja will be happiest in a quiet indoor-only home (he has always been an indoor cat). Ninja is an incredibly affectionate cat who is completely obsessed with cuddles and kisses. Once he’s settled into his new home and gets to know you, he’ll happily follow you from room to room, chatting away as if telling you all about his day. He adores human company and will gently remind you when it’s time for some attention. Evenings are one of Ninja’s favourite times of day because that’s when he insists on his nightly cuddle session. He’ll happily snuggle up, purring contentedly while you give him hugs and kisses. If you stop too soon, he’ll give you the most adorable look as if you’ve committed a terrible crime by ending the cuddles! Playtime is another of Ninja’s favourite activities. His treasured toy is a feather wand with a little bell, and although he’ll happily entertain himself for a while, he much prefers it when someone joins in the fun. If he thinks it’s time to play, he’ll gently tap your arm or leg to let you know. He’s such a polite little gentleman. Ninja also enjoys the simple pleasures in life. Give him a cardboard box by a window and he’ll happily spend time watching the world go by. He loves Lick-e-Lix treats, enjoys both dry food and food with plenty of gravy, and likes having fresh water available in different places around the home. Grooming is no problem for this lovely boy either. He enjoys being brushed in short sessions and often sits patiently while purring away, making grooming a lovely bonding experience. Ninja has lived alongside other cats in the past and may be able to share his home with a friendly feline companion following careful introductions. He has not lived with dogs, however, and we are therefore looking for a dog-free home for him. He has also not lived with children, so we feel he would be best suited to a home with older, sensible children who can respect his need for a gentle introduction and quiet settling-in period. Ninja has come such a long way since arriving in foster care, and now he’s ready to find a forever family who will give him the love, stability and companionship he deserves. In return, you’ll gain a faithful little shadow who will fill your home with affection, gentle chats, playful moments and endless purrs. About Ninja

What life with Ninja looks like

Ninja is a extra-large young adult mixed breed cat cat waiting at Avid in United Kingdom.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Ninja, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Ninja?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Avid handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Ninja on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Ninja if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Avid will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Ninja already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Ninja isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Avid early rather than rehoming privately; they know Ninja and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
