Adopt Ninja

Mixed Breed · Female · Senior · 9 years

Age: approx. 4 years (according to the vaccination card, 06.01.2021) Every day we fight to save lives that are often no longer seen. As an animal welfare association, we stand up for those dogs who have been abandoned, mistreated, or simply forgotten – and give them a second chance at a dignified life. Our engagement goes beyond the classic animal placement. We operate a senior residence for old and often sick dogs who should spend their twilight years in security. At the same time, we support needy pet owners by distributing food, so that human and animal do not have to be separated. When a dog escapes, many families enter a time of fear and despair – here our animal search assistance helps quickly and engaged. Particularly close to our hearts are the hard-to-place dogs: Through targeted training programs and intensive socialization, we also give them a real chance at a new home. Many of the animals we take in have experienced violence and neglect. They not only need time and patience but also comprehensive medical care. Veterinary costs, accommodation, electricity, water, and insurance are ongoing expenses that we must cover entirely on our own – because we receive no funding from municipalities or the state. To continue this important work, we rely on strong partners. With your sponsorship, you not only support active animal protection but also set a visible sign of responsibility and compassion. In return, we offer you presence on our website, our social media channels, and our fleet. Together, we can bring hope where there was only fear – and change lives that cannot change themselves. We would be very happy to know you as a supporter on our side and would be happy to be available for a personal conversation at any time. Our association is recognized as a charity, and donation receipts can be issued. I would be happy to show you more about our association and have a conversation with you in person. Please feel very welcome to contact us :-). Help us – with just 1 Euro per month. Monday to Friday from 10:00 to 14:00, Saturdays from 10:00 to 12:00.

About Ninja

What life with Ninja looks like

Ninja is a senior mixed breed dog waiting at Hunde SOS Oberberg e.V. in Germany.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Ninja, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Ninja?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Hunde SOS Oberberg e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Ninja on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Ninja if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Hunde SOS Oberberg e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Ninja already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Ninja isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Hunde SOS Oberberg e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Ninja and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
