Ninja2013 | Skewbald | Shetland | Under 10hhWe have taken in several horses and ponies over the years who have suffered a terrible existence in confinement – often solitary. It is then so heart-warming to see them recover fully and go on to enjoy the freedom they deserve.Ninja is quite a character – a proper Victor Meldrew who likes plenty of personal space. He is known for making a scene if he takes a dislike to horses in close proximity and can become very vocal and confrontational indeed. This has got him into trouble ……but that’s a story for another time!Like most ex-stallion Shetlands, Ninja firmly believes he is gorgeous and fancies himself with the ladies – strutting around tossing his mane in a wild manner. Please sponsor Ninja – by doing so you allow us to continue to be ready and able to respond, offering a bright and secure future to ponies who have suffered a bad start in life. About Ninja

What life with Ninja looks like

Ninja is a senior horse waiting at Here4Horses in United Kingdom.

Adopting a horse is a long-term commitment that almost always requires either land or a boarding stable. The shelter will discuss the horse's training level, vet history, and what kind of work or companionship they're suited for. Expect ongoing costs: feed, farrier, vet, and stabling.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

Paperwork, vet checks and transport rules differ by species and by country. Ask the shelter what is included and what you will need to arrange before you commit.

Frequently asked

Adopting Ninja, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Ninja?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Here4Horses handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Ninja on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Ninja if I live in another country?
Sometimes. Whether a horse can move between countries depends on the species and the rules in both countries, and some species need permits or have restrictions. Ask Here4Horses what paperwork and transport they require, and check the import rules of your country before you commit.
Is Ninja already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
What a horse comes with (vet checks, vaccinations, identification, paperwork) varies by shelter and species. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask Here4Horses directly what is included and what Ninja still needs.
What happens if Ninja isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Here4Horses early rather than rehoming privately; they know Ninja and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
