Adopt Nisha

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 4 years

Nisha - on a foster home in Erlangen - Profile ♀️ female / neutered 🎂 December 2021 (estimated) ⚖️ approx. 43-45 cm, 13 kg ✔️ vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed 📖 Bosnian pet certificate 🐈 compatibility with others: unknown with cats 📍 91052 Erlangen (foster home) Huhu, I am the lovable Nisha! One day in the cold winter, I was simply abandoned, and for a long time, I lived in the animal shelter Neverland in Bosnia, hoping for my own family. Unfortunately, I was always overlooked, even though the people there always said how perfect I was. 🥹 That's why I recently moved to a foster home in Germany – so I can finally see more of the world and find my happiness! 🍀 I have to admit that the move was quite a lot for me at first. Suddenly, everything I was used to was gone, but there were so many new impressions, people, smells, and situations… 🫣 I got used to my cozy bed and the lots of love and attention from my foster dad quite quickly. 🥰 I show him every day what a cheerful, lively, playful, and mischievous little girl I am. 🥳 I prefer to explore the unknown world outside the garden step by step. Getting used to going for walks takes time, and there's a lot to see and process here. In the animal shelter, I always had many friends to play with, and I was very active, curious, and smart. Here in Germany, I'm slowly getting used to everything, and I'm optimistic that with a bit more practice and getting used to things, I can soon show my true self and enjoy exciting outings. ☺️ My foster dad is really great, but I would already love to go on my own adventures with my very own people! Together, we can carefully get to know and learn to love the big, wide world. Feel safe and secure with them, learn a lot from and with them, and be at home and arrived with love, time, and patience. Do you think we would be a good match? Then please get in touch and ask about Nisha! I'm really looking forward to hopefully meeting you soon.

About Nisha

What life with Nisha looks like

Nisha is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Stray Dogs Bosnien e.V. in Schwabach.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Nisha, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Nisha?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Stray Dogs Bosnien e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Nisha on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Nisha if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Stray Dogs Bosnien e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Nisha already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Nisha isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Stray Dogs Bosnien e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Nisha and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
