Nola ♀ 🇭🇺

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 6 years

Nola is a fully lovable female dog who immediately captivates with her friendly and people-oriented nature. The approximately 6-year-old female dog measures around 50 cm and tips the scales at about 20 kg – a great size for those looking for a medium-sized companion. Nola loves the contact with people very much and longs nothing more than to finally belong and to gather beautiful experiences together with her people. In her previous life, Nola unfortunately did not get to know much that was good. She came from very bad circumstances and had to live for a long time without protection from wind and weather on a short chain. The chain had already grown into her neck and had to be surgically removed – the large scar on her neck still reminds us of this difficult time. Now, we wish for her a loving home where she can arrive as a full-fledged family member and experience how wonderful a dog life can be. Despite everything Nola has experienced, she is incredibly open, clingy, and full of joy. She enjoys every bit of attention and seeks the proximity of her people. Walks make her very happy, and she meets other dogs outside problem-free and relaxed. At home, Nola would like to enjoy her new happiness as a single princess and receive the undivided attention of her family. For Nola, we wish a quiet, loving home – preferably with a garden or in rural surroundings, where she can arrive at her own pace. Children should already be older and understanding so that they can also find their peace and security. This dog is waiting at the animal shelter 'Hoffnung' for her people – the shelter itself is happy to receive any support so that the dogs can continue to be well cared for.

About Nola ♀ 🇭🇺

What life with Nola ♀ 🇭🇺 looks like

Nola ♀ 🇭🇺 is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein Hundehilfe Hinterland e.V. in Biedenkopf.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Nola ♀ 🇭🇺, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Nola ♀ 🇭🇺?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Hundehilfe Hinterland e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Nola ♀ 🇭🇺 on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Nola ♀ 🇭🇺 if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Hundehilfe Hinterland e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Nola ♀ 🇭🇺 already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Nola ♀ 🇭🇺 isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Hundehilfe Hinterland e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Nola ♀ 🇭🇺 and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
