Nola

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Puppy · 3 months

adoption requirements adoption process Now meet Nola! Her story: Our little Nola was rescued from the public shelter in Zalau. A heartwarming case for us – because in Zalau, animals are still being euthanized. Nola was able to move into a private pension. Unfortunately, she also lives in an unsightly outdoor pen, but she is safe. Our helpers describe Nola as a lovelier, more playful, and friendlier puppy. She just wants to be loved and greets two-legged beings very kindly. Our helpers on site believe that she will make a great family dog. Currently, she is about 3 months old and is expected to be of medium size. Nola is looking for people who won't expect much from her at first and will show her how a normal dog life works. She is still a baby and needs to learn a lot. A little mishap shouldn't be taken to heart, and Nola should always be guided with a positive reinforcement training style. She is looking forward to her new life with beautiful nature walks, many cuddle sessions, and also a visit to puppy school. In the first year of life, puppies should not be left alone as much as possible. Additionally, the more challenging pubertal phase is approaching. The hormone chaos will turn the little ratters' lives upside down. They often "forget" everything they have learned so far, and their ears are on high alert. Therefore, it is especially important to be consistent – but loving – in training during this phase. And there is also good news: This phase will pass! Nola is neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated. She brings her EU pet passport and can be adopted after a positive health check. Thank you, Jessica F.! You named Nola! Date: 14.12.

Vielen Dank Jessica F.! Du hast Nola ihren Namen geschenkt! About Nola

What life with Nola looks like

Nola is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Nola, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Nola?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Nola on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Nola if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Nola already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Nola isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Nola and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
