Noroc

Mixed Breed · Female · Senior · 10 years

Noroc has a very good mood during our current visit and after initial hesitation, she lets herself be touched and stroked. She enjoys being near us. Her age is slowly showing, her movements are a bit stiffer than last year. March 2021 July 2020 Noroc has made progress over the last two years. She comes to people she knows and even lets herself be touched. Sometimes Noroc is over the moon with joy when she receives attention. At first she barks a lot, but she quickly becomes calm. In the kennel she comes to us relaxed. She likes to play with the other dogs in a lively manner. Noroc has become a large but slender female dog. Sometimes dogs take longer to think about interacting with people. Noroc is such a dog! November 2018 Noroc has overcome her greatest fear. But she is torn. She actually wants to chase someone away, but on the other hand, she is also curious and comes to be stroked. She stands at the threshold: should I - should I not. Let's hope she overcomes it soon and comes to people, so that she can find a home one day. She gets along well with the other dogs. February 2017 Noroc is a beautiful little girl, but she is quite shy and does not want to be touched. She lives together with Loonah and Rodolfo on the farm near the house, where she could actually get used to people very well. Hopefully she will soon trust. She gets along well with the other dogs. End of October 2016 Another poor little "sock" has landed at our animal shelter again. A little girl about 6 months old, injured by a car, was found near the gas station in Ditrău. Unfortunately, her sibling was run over. (run free little one …) Fortunately, this little dog was rescued and is now with a broken leg with us and will soon have to be operated on. We have given her the name Noroc. This is Romanian and means something like luck, well-being … Only transferable to experienced people.

DE·Show original

(run free little one ….)

About Noroc

What life with Noroc looks like

Noroc is a large senior mixed breed dog waiting at Initiative Karpatenstreuner e.V. in Romania.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇷🇴Adopting from Romania

Romanian rescues handle the highest volume of cross-border adoptions in the EU. Animals are quarantined and fully vetted before transport. Reputable rescues maintain detailed health records and post-adoption follow-up.

Frequently asked

Adopting Noroc, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Noroc?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Initiative Karpatenstreuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Noroc on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Noroc if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Initiative Karpatenstreuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Noroc already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Noroc isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Initiative Karpatenstreuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Noroc and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
