Nova

Female · Puppy · 6 months

Nova is a lively and affectionate girl who loves to play and cuddle. She enjoys long walks and relaxing on the couch, but she can also get stressed easily. This is shown by her following you around and wanting to be close, and then nibbling on your clothes. She can have a hard time letting go of this behavior, and the new home must be prepared to continue working with it. She also has trouble sharing attention, so because of this, we believe a home without small children and other animals would be the best for her. A home where she gets all the attention would suit her perfectly. With moderate exercise and training, we believe this behavior can improve significantly. Nova also has mild patellar luxation, which she currently has no problems with, but the new home must continue to keep her in good shape and well-muscled. However, she should not be exercised with agility or similar activities. Nova wants a couple or a single person with or without teenage children who can keep her active and healthy. She also wants minimal alone time as she finds it difficult to be left alone. So if she can go to work with you or live with someone who works from home, that would be perfect. Also, someone who is aware of her patellar luxation when going on adventures with her. So if you are active and love to be with someone, you have found the right match in Nova. Answer the questions below to get an indication of how your daily life and plans match a dog's needs. This will help both you and us find the right match and give the dog a safe home. You need to take the test before you can submit your interest form. The price is between 2,500 -10,000 SEK, depending mainly on the age of the dog. About Nova

What life with Nova looks like

Nova is a small puppy/kitten dog waiting at Hundstallet in Stockholm.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇸🇪Adopting from Sweden

Swedish shelters require an adoption application and home visit. Animals are chipped, vaccinated, and sterilized. Cross-border placements within the EU use the standard pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Nova, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Nova?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Hundstallet handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Nova on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Nova if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Hundstallet will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Nova already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Nova isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Hundstallet early rather than rehoming privately; they know Nova and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (SV). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
