Adoption requirements Adoption process Request this animal now! Adoption requirements Adoption process Request this dog now! Often it is the mothers who are left behind while their puppies have already started to discover the world. Nova, however, still has her whole life ahead of her - at about two years old, she is far too young to spend her days behind bars. She is waiting here at the shelter in Fantanele for a family that will finally welcome her. Nova was originally rescued from the street to be spayed, but surprised everyone at the clinic - she gave birth to nine puppies. She mastered her task as a mother with great success: her puppies have developed wonderfully and now live with their families in Germany. Now it's time for Nova to finally be in the spotlight. She is rather calm and balanced, yet always very friendly. She has discovered how nice it can be to interact with people, and actively approaches her caretakers to receive loving cuddles. She easily wears the harness and already walks well on a leash. Nova probably has never experienced living in a house. Much is new for her - from housebreaking to being alone. She is a "blank sheet" that would like to be guided step by step into the rules of living together with patience, love, and understanding. Which breeds are combined in her remains her charming secret, but her calm and gentle nature speaks for itself. She gets along very well with other dogs; if needed, we can certainly test with cats. For Nova, we wish people who do not expect a "finished" dog, but who enjoy accompanying a sensitive soul step by step into a new life. She needs someone who gives her security and shows her that she has arrived and will never have to fight for her survival again. With her friendly and balanced nature, she will surely be a wonderful companion for her future family. Nova travels spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas to her new home. Of course, she brings her EU pet passport with her. After a positive preliminary check, she can be adopted for a fee. Also, a loving foster home would be a valuable first step in her happy future. Many thanks, dear Lara - you gave Nova a radiant symbol for her new beginning with her name. A big thank you also goes to Pia B., who has taken on a monthly sponsorship for Nova. Date: 16.05.2026

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Stand: 16.05.2026

About Nova

What life with Nova looks like

Nova is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Nova, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Nova?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Nova on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Nova if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Nova already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Nova isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Nova and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
