adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Nugget has found a home! His story: Attention Puppy Alert. Nugget, Woody, Willy, Bruce, Eferhilda, and Sokje. Six adorable little puppies are on the lookout for a home. The six were found more or less randomly at the edge of the forest in an abandoned house, where they were obviously abandoned. The little rascals were brought to safety and are currently being cared for by our dear animal rescuer Diana Larissa. At four months old, they are now ready to explore the big wide world and, most importantly, find their people where they can grow in love and security and spend the rest of their lives. They must not be raised in the shelter. All six are typical playful puppies and get along well with dogs and cats. The little Nugget, who is likely to grow to medium size, with mostly black fur and the fun brown and white accents, looks curiously into the camera, as if to say: "Look at me, am I not cute and unique?" And honestly, with that adorable little guy, it's hard to resist. Nugget is looking for people who won't have too many expectations of him and will show him how a normal dog life works. He is still a baby and has a lot to learn. One or two mishaps shouldn't be held against him, and Nugget should always be guided with a positive training style. He is looking forward to his new life with nature walks, lots of snuggling, and also a visit to puppy school. In the first year of life, puppies should not be left alone as much as possible. Additionally, the more demanding pubertal phase is approaching. The hormone chaos turns the little racker's life upside down. They "forget" a lot of what they have learned and their ears are on full alert. Therefore, it is especially important to train consistently but lovingly during this phase. And there is also good news: This phase will pass! Nugget is looking forward to your inquiry. He is microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas. He can pack his EU pet passport at any time and embark on his great journey. After a positive But also a foster home would be a stepping stone to a better future. Thanks Birgit! With your nametag sponsorship, Nugget has an identity and can finally take off. As of: 04.10.

About Nugget

What life with Nugget looks like

Nugget is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Nugget, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Nugget?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Nugget on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Nugget if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Nugget already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Nugget isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Nugget and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
