adoption requirements adoption process Inquire about this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Inquire about this dog now! Little Nuri is still so young – and yet he already carries a story within him that goes deeper than words can often describe. Born on the streets of Romania, he never knew the warm feeling of a safe home from the start, only the daily struggle for survival. Together with his mom and his 11 siblings, he searched for protection, hope, and a little bit of security – until fate struck harshly and he had to witness one of his siblings lose this life. And despite it all… Nuri has kept something incredibly precious: his big, pure heart. His eyes tell of what has been – but even more of what he wishes for. Hope. Trust. Love. Today, Nuri lives with a foster family in Germany and is slowly beginning to understand that there is another world. A world where hands don’t shoo away but gently stroke. A world where voices don’t frighten but soothe. He is a shy, sensitive little guy who cautiously discovers the world – step by step, glance by glance. At first, he still keeps a bit of distance, quietly observing from a safe place… but when you give him time, he opens up. And then he shows what’s really inside him: a loving, playful young dog who simply wants to belong. At night, he sleeps peacefully and very close to his humans – as if he senses that he is finally no longer alone. In the morning, he gives a well-behaved signal when he needs to go out and starts the day full of joy. Then it’s time to play, romp, and get up to mischief – together with his dog friend, full of lightness and childlike zest for life. On the leash, Nuri already walks surprisingly well. The big, noisy world still makes him a little wary, but he masters a little bit more each day. Cars, bicycles, children – he watches all of them attentively, cautiously, but with growing courage. Nuri is a little fighter. One who hasn’t given up. One who, despite everything, loves, trusts, and hopes. What he still lacks now is a home of his own. People who see him. Who understand his quiet steps. Who show him that he is exactly right – just as he is. People who give him the time he needs… and the love he so deeply deserves. Nuri is vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and treated for fleas into his new home. Due to his young age, he is not yet neutered. With his travel arrangements, he naturally brings his EU pet passport along. After positive Who will give this special little treasure a home – and with it the greatest happiness of his life? Many thanks to Brigitte P.! You gave Nuri his name and with it the chance for a home of his own. Status: 03.05.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Vielen Dank an Brigitte P.! Stand: 03.05.2026

About Nuri

What life with Nuri looks like

Nuri is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Nuri, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Nuri?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Nuri on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Nuri if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Nuri already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Nuri isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Nuri and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
