Nussecke

Female · Kitten · 3 months

Our Katzenjammer litter is something truly special. The litter’s story began with Grandma Helga, Mom Heidi and Mom Hilde, along with a total of 13 kittens of various ages. The three adult cats have been helping each other care for and look after the kittens until they all ended up at the animal shelter. The older kittens have already been rehomed to their new families, and now the youngest kittens have grown big enough to find their own families as well. All the kittens love spending time outdoors in our run, where the little sensory swing, in particular, is a huge hit. They enjoy each other’s company and get along wonderfully, so if you’d like to adopt more than one kitten, they’ll all get along just fine. (Angela Merkel, Brunhild, Heidelberg, Nussecke, Gisela and Goethe.) Nussecke should have the opportunity to go outside into a garden once she’s settled comfortably in her new home. The kittens can thrive either as house/garden cats or as barn cats. If they’re going to live as barn cats and won’t have access to the house itself, it’s important that they always have access to a warm, dry, frost-free place where they can seek shelter—for example, a barn, a heated garage or another suitable room. Even though they live as barn cats, they still need security, care and daily human interaction.

About Nussecke

What life with Nussecke looks like

Nussecke is a large puppy/kitten cat waiting at Kattens Vaern in Kattens Vaern.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇩🇰Adopting from Denmark

Danish shelters follow EU pet passport rules and require an adoption contract. Animals are chipped, vaccinated, and sterilized before placement.

Frequently asked

Adopting Nussecke, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Nussecke?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Kattens Vaern handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Nussecke on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Nussecke if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Kattens Vaern will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Nussecke already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Nussecke isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Kattens Vaern early rather than rehoming privately; they know Nussecke and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DA). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
