Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?

TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.

Nyx (female) 🎂 Birthday: ca. 4/2026 📌 Location: Cyprus, on PS 🏡 Living situation: no unsecured outdoor access, no exceptions for single housing 😻 Friends: Veya Hey, I'm Nyx. With my sister Veya, I sat in a car engine, tiny, scared, hungry, and infested with fleas. Fortunately, we were rescued from this dangerous situation in time. Today, I live safely in a foster home, I'm healthy and ready to take the next big step - moving to my future home. I'm a playful and cuddly girl, initially a bit shy until I feel safe... maybe with you? My journey to you will be chipped, vaccinated, tested for FiV/FelV, and I will have an EU pet passport. ------------------------------------------------------------ Who are the heroes behind Heroes for Cyprus Cats We at Heroes for Cyprus Cats are a dedicated team of animal lovers from Cyprus, Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, who are committed to the welfare of the street cats in Cyprus. Our goal is to improve the lives of these cats sustainably. Our local team in Cyprus feeds, neuters, and cares for sick or injured cats on the streets and in the colonies. If necessary, we bring them to foster families, where they wait in a safe environment for their family. In addition, we maintain a strong online presence, process inquiries from adopters, and provide support at the airport. Street cats in Cyprus suffer greatly and are often victims of car accidents or cruel mistreatment. Many simply starve or die from diseases that are not treated. We save them from this sad fate and work tirelessly to find a loving, safe home for our rescued cats. We place great value on a collegial, transparent, and respectful relationship within our team and with potential adopters. For us, adopting a cat is just the beginning. We are committed to supporting our rescued cats and their new families for a lifetime. Together, we make a difference, for every single cat.

Ich bin ein verspieltes und knuffiges Mädchen, anfangs etwas scheu, bis ich mich sicher fühle… vielleicht bei dir? About Nyx 🐾 elegant in Schwarz 🖤

What life with Nyx 🐾 elegant in Schwarz 🖤 looks like

Nyx 🐾 elegant in Schwarz 🖤 is a very small puppy/kitten cat waiting at Heroes for Cyprus Cats / Zypernkatzen in Kirchheim bei München.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.
