adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Occhi has found a home! His story: This sweet, white puppy named Occhi has had no luck in his short life. His brave mother lived on the streets and gave birth to him and his six siblings, Jarah, Bamboo, Lewis, Shelby, Yakari, and Wickie, under a car. Fortunately, the homeless dogs were seen by responsible people and saved. Now, the entire family is being housed in a private foster home in Baia. The little Occhi should only stay there as long as necessary and is therefore looking for a place with loving people who will take care of him, raise him, and explain what life as a house dog is like. A permanent home would be the absolute happy ending for Occhi, but we would also be very happy with a foster home where the clever puppy can show what a great guy he is. Occhi is about three months old and is still a real baby. His sweet face with mismatched eyes—one blue and one brown, his dense white fur, and his polar bear baby look make him a particularly cute puppy. The sweet guy is a friendly and open puppy who shows his loving and clever character in the foster home. He is cuddly and typically playful. Occhi is expected to grow into a large and strong dog who, of course, should be loved and spoiled, but also needs enough mental and physical stimulation and training. Occhi has no experience with life as a house dog and has never heard of house training or leash walking. He is at the very beginning of his life and needs to learn a lot. In a few months, Occhi will enter puberty, which will require a lot of patience from his new human. But with understanding, humor, and a lovingly consistent training style, one can support the friendly puppy in his development into a well-mannered and confident young dog. After an appropriate adjustment period, Occhi will surely be happy to visit dog training classes that promote his education and bond with his new humans. For the sweet, white Occhi, we wish for a loving family that will meet him with respect and give him enough time to adjust to his new living situation. His new humans should offer plenty of puppy contact and be willing to work patiently and consistently on the education of a strong dog. If you have fallen in love with the sweet puppy and want to offer him an appropriate dog life, then contact us! We would like to thank the namingsponsor Sunny W., who gave Occhi his name. As of January 15. This animal is vaccinated. This animal is microchipped.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Stand: 15.01.2026

About Occhi

What life with Occhi looks like

Occhi is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Occhi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Occhi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Occhi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Occhi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Occhi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Occhi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Occhi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
