Adopt Odil

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 9 months

Odil is a small, black, older mixed breed dog. One that many people pass by without stopping - he is not a puppy, not a purebred, not pushy. And yet, it's precisely such dogs who often have the most to offer. We don't know his past. He wandered onto a property in one of the nearby towns and from there ended up in an animal shelter. Most likely he had a home once. What his life was like and why no one is looking for him - we will never know. However, we can take care that his future will be better than his past. Odil is not talkative or forward. He very much appreciates moments when a person gives him attention - you can see then that he relaxes and how much he loves affection. However, he rarely asks for it himself. He is delicate, subtle in expressing emotions. This is a dog who doesn't jump or demand petting. He very much enjoys walking. He also easily goes out with newly met people and walks nicely on a leash. Walks bring him clear pleasure - it's the time when he can calmly get to know the world and be close to a human. In relations with other dogs, it varies. He usually growls at males, so if he were to live in a house with another dog, preliminary meeting walks would be necessary and checking whether the animals feel good in each other's company. By the side of the right person, Odil will certainly be a loyal companion. Maybe that's the friend you're looking for? 🙂 Odil was born around 01/2017. He is neutered, wormed, vaccinated, dewormed and castrated.

Odil to mały, czarny, starszy kundelek. A przecież właśnie takie psy często mają do zaoferowania najwięcej.

About Odil

What life with Odil looks like

Odil is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Fundacja Puszatek in Warszawa.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Odil, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Odil?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Puszatek handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Odil on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Odil if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Puszatek will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Odil already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Odil isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Puszatek early rather than rehoming privately; they know Odil and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
