Odin (m)

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Adult · 4 years

Hello everyone, it's me again, your ODIN. I'm 4 years old and approximately 55cm tall and 25kg. Now I need to write a bit more about myself. So, I have a new haircut. At first, I thought it was stupid with the haircut, but now I think it's really good. Much airier and it's not so hot anymore. So slowly I also understand how everything works with my foster mom: cats are great and belong to the family. Gisela, my dog friend, is also great. Mom is actually pretty good too, but sometimes she does things I don't like so much. My stupid stubbornness, which sometimes has its own ideas. Then I show her my beautiful teeth. Mom doesn't like that so much, and shows me her beautiful teeth. Well, she scolds a bit. I'm a little doofi, she says, and I'm not for beginners and not for children. She's probably right. But to be honest, I give it a try. People I don't know are also creepy at first. I prefer to keep my distance and sometimes I can't help but bark at them. But when these people also keep their distance and don't want to crawl on me, everything is great. I don't understand it, I don't crawl on every stranger on the street either! It's great that Mom takes care of that and tells the people that. That's why I love my furless mom. I love her very much and she's allowed to lift me, "wire me" and love my belly. I want to be there all the time, I like to lie next to the desk and wait until it's time to go on tour. Leash walking works great and the recall is also great. I have to keep her in line. Of course, I'm housebroken. I also know how to behave in the car. And being alone goes fine too. So, if you've read everything now and know about dogs like me (Mom says sometimes I'm also a donkey), then write an email. Mom will read it to me and then you can come visit me. Wagging my tail, your Odin ODIN is neutered, vaccinated, chipped and dewormed. He is placed with a preliminary check and contract against a deposit through the animal shelter Casa Katharina e.V. Contact: or on fb. All our dogs travel with official Traces papers and of course we also have Paragraph 11

About Odin (m)

What life with Odin (m) looks like

Odin (m) is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tiernothilfe Casa Katharina e.V. in Nürnberg.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Odin (m), answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Odin (m)?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tiernothilfe Casa Katharina e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Odin (m) on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Odin (m) if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tiernothilfe Casa Katharina e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Odin (m) already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Odin (m) isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tiernothilfe Casa Katharina e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Odin (m) and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
