Odin

Mixed Breed · Male · Kitten · 2 months

Animal Welfare Advocate: Ilza Yosifova, born approximately June 2026; Gender: Male; Location: Bulgaria; Neutered: No; FIV Test: Negative; FeLV Test: Negative; Disabilities: None; Compatible With: Children: Unknown; Cats: Yes; Dogs: Unknown; Requirements: NO single housing—only apartment living; NO outdoor access; Balcony or terrace desirable (if available, secure fencing is required). Odin was incredibly lucky. Right in the middle of a busy street, the little tomcat sat in pouring rain—completely defenseless and in great danger. Car after car approached, and every second could have been his last. Fortunately, Ilza spotted the little fellow just in time. She stopped the cars, brought Odin to safety, and saved his life. From that moment on, the little tomcat no longer had to fight alone for survival. At first, Odin was still very insecure—no wonder, considering what he’d been through. But now he’s regained his trust and has blossomed into a truly sweet little cat. As befits a kitten, he plays, romps around, and curiously explores the world. Of course, cuddling is an essential part of his life—Odin loves petting and being close to his people just as much as he enjoys the company of his feline friends. For Odin, a new life has begun with his rescue—now all he needs is his own family. His little suitcase is packed, and the little tomcat is eagerly waiting for the people who will play with him, cuddle with him, and help him grow up.‼️Odin will only be rehomed to an already existing young cat of similar age—or he’ll bring a friend from the foster home along with him‼️

About Odin

What life with Odin looks like

Odin is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed cat waiting at Glücksnasen e.V. Tierschutzverein in Germany.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Odin, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Odin?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Glücksnasen e.V. Tierschutzverein handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Odin on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Odin if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Glücksnasen e.V. Tierschutzverein will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Odin already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Odin isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Glücksnasen e.V. Tierschutzverein early rather than rehoming privately; they know Odin and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
