Oldie

Mixed Breed · Female · Senior · 9 years

Female, born approximately April 2017 (estimated), small (6.7 kg - July 2026), arrived at the shelter in March 2026, spayed (July 15, 2026), vaccinated, microchipped, gets along with dogs and cats. Temperament: shy. As of July 2026 in her foster home: She is doing very well, based on her behavior, I think she lived in a family where she was well treated, she is very demanding for pets and cuddles, she can be carried without problem, she eats regularly but in small quantities, she walks well on a leash, she knows her name and comes back when called, a sweet dog. Evolution: sociable once she trusts you (March 2026). She is really afraid of every sudden movement, whether from humans or dogs (normal), and panics and can scream very loudly or bite in those moments, otherwise, once she trusts you, she is adorable. History: she was bitten in the neck upon arrival at the shelter, the bite became infected and caused an edema in her neck, she was immediately taken care of and treated, she is much better now. Contact: spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, gets along with dogs and cats.

About Oldie

What life with Oldie looks like

Oldie is a medium-sized senior mixed breed dog waiting at Remember Me France in France.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Oldie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Oldie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Remember Me France handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Oldie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Oldie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Remember Me France will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Oldie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Oldie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Remember Me France early rather than rehoming privately; they know Oldie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
